I'm currently pursuing my PhD degree at the University of Toronto, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am a member of the Computer Engineering Research Group and my supervisor is Professor Tarek S. Abdelrahman.
Research
My general research interests are computer architecture, compilers and FPGAs.
Throughout my PhD research I seek to develop a novel approach for user-transparent application acceleration on commodity FPGAs. This is done through the use of a virtual coarse-grain architecture overlaid on top of commodity FPGAs. This overlay is termed the Virtual Dynamically Reconfigurable (VDR) Overlay.
For my Master's thesis I designed a microarchitecture and FPGA implementation of the MLCA, an architecture that automatically exploits coarse-grain parallelism in applications.
Academic Background
I defended my Master's thesis at the University of Toronto in April 2008. Prior to coming to Canada, I received my Bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER), University of Zagreb. I completed my Bachelor's thesis project in the Consumer Computing Laboratory, which is coordinated by Professor Sinisa Srbljic.

Interests
If you are studying in Europe, this is the perfect place for you. If you are studying in Canada, then check out CFES, which is a partner organization of BEST. If you are a company or a prof, please help these organizations, they are doing a great job.
Soccer & Ice Hockey
Soccer: I play for the grad team in the UofT intramural league. I also play in indoor leagues at the SoccerWorld Polson Pier. In case you're interested in joining my team, send me an email.
Ice Hockey: I usually play with HockeyToronto.
