Here are a set of problems that you can do to practice the lecture material for midterms and/or the final exam. These are optional assignments that will not be graded. Answers are available here.  We recommend strongly that you do not look at the solutions until you have spent a serious amount of time attempting the problem - it always looks easy when you can see the solution, but is much harder when you have to work it out for yourself.
