For the exam, NO calculators, and only a bound VHDL manual or book are allowed. Loose notes are not allowed. Unauthorized photocopies of books or manuals are also not allowed.

In the labs, we are using the XESS Corporation XS40-010XL as the hardware platform.

We would like to acknowledge Xilinx for providing the FPGA hardware and software. We are also using Synopsys software for VHDL simulation.

In many cases there are two links. The primary version is in HTML for (usually) quicker viewing. The one marked `ps' should be used if you want a printed copy.

• To generate a license file you will need the serial number on the disks. Online installation instructions and tutorial guides are also available. This is for Release 1.4, but should be good enough. I have a local copy of the docs as a zippified pdf file (as of October 14, 1998). It is 1.9MBs.
