How to get from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to the conference site in downtown Toronto or the (recommended) Holiday Inn hotel or New College Residence:

TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) bus then subway ($3, 75 minutes):

Follow the signs in the terminal towards "Public Transportation". Exit the terminal and cross onto the middle traffic island. You will see a sign for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) (the sign has a red logo). Take the 192 Airport Rocket to Kipling subway station. You will see the #192 on the bus stop. Kipling station is the only station that the 192 bus goes to. Getting on the 192 will cost $3, and operators carry no change; however, before you exit the terminal you can buy a TTC ticket from a machine using your credit card. Once you are at Kipling, get on the subway and travel to Spadina subway station (about 30 minutes). You do not need to pay again at Kipling, simply go downstairs and get on ANY subway train. Once you hit Spadina Station, exit to street level. The Holiday Inn hotel is about a 3 minute walk from Spadina station; the conference site is about a 12 minute walk from Spadina station. If you are staying at New College Residence, it is directly beside the conference site.

Union Pearson Express train and subway ($27 + $3, 40 minutes):

Follow the signs in the airport for the UP train (the Union Pearson Express train). If you arrive in airport terminal #1, the UP station is connected to the terminal; if you arrive in airport terminal #2, you need to take a (free) train transfer to terminal #1. When you get to the UP station, buy a ticket from the kiosk for the UP train ($27). The UP trains run every 15 minutes and the transfer time to downtown is 25 minutes. Upon arrival to Union UP station, follow the signs towards the TTC subway station (Union subway station). Take subway line 1 towards Downsview station ($3 charge — buy a token from the machine or from the operator). Exit the subway at St. George station. The Holiday Inn hotel is about a 3 minute walk from St. George station; the conference site is about a 12 minute walk from St. George station. If you are staying at New College Residence, it is directly beside the conference site.

How to get from Toronto City Centre Airport (YTO) to the conference site or the (recommended) Holiday Inn hotel or New College Residence ($3):

Take the free shuttle bus from YTO to Union subway station. When you get off the shuttle bus, follow the signs towards the TTC subway station (Union subway station). Take subway line 1 towards Downsview station ($3 charge — buy a token from the machine or from the operator). Exit the subway at St. George station. The Holiday Inn hotel is about a 3 minute walk from St. George station; the conference site is about a 12 minute walk from St. George station. If you are staying at New College Residence, it is directly beside the conference site.
