Mission Statement 

Mission:

The Real-Time PSIG (RTSIG) will work within the OMG to augment existing OMA Technology for the requirements of real-time systems, and to promote CORBA technology in the real-time marketplace. 

Scope:

The Emphasis of this Platform Special Interest Group will be on Real-Time Systems.  Because many Real-Time Systems are also embedded and have fault tolerance requirements, this SIG will address Embedded and Fault Tolerant issues in the context of Real-Time Systems. 

Structure:

    Key Interfaces Within OMG:

    Members of the RTSIG will work within these groups to promote support for real-time systems issues.  The following have been identified: 

    • ORBOS Platform Task Force (ORB and Object Services issues) 
    • Telecommunications Domain Task Force (Streams) 
    • Liaison Subcommittee (liaision with real-time standards groups) 
    • Security SIG (security issues for real-time) 

    Customer Task Force Interfaces:

    Provide requirements, scenarios, and review technical interchanges or joint meetings as needed.  The following have been identified: 

    • Telecommunications DTF 
    • Manufacturing DTF 
    • CORBAMed DTF, Life Sciences 
    • Financial DTF 
    • Transportation DTF 
    • Electronic Commerce DTF 
    • Simulation SIG 
    • C4I SIG 
    • Utilities Group
