A longtime veteran of the FPGA industry, Steve Trimberger will give his personal view of the evolution of FPGAs over the past 30 years, with focus on process technology and its changing effects on applications and design methodology. More recent advances include device security, and Dr. Trimberger will discuss the security features of the Zynq All-Programmable SoC device. Time-permitting, Dr.Trimberger will present some thoughts on constraints on construction of messages to be sent to potential extra-terrestrial intelligent beings.
