Jianwen Zhu leads

Current PhD Students
Rami Beidas
completed his bachelor degree at South Ampton in England. He joined
the group in January 2002. His research interest is in platform-based
design. He is a member of the
Diamond
project.
He is currently focusing on high level synthesis algorithms.
Silvian Calman
completed his bachelor degree at University of Toronto. He joined the
group in September 2002. His research interest is in program analysis
and compiler. He is a member of the
Quanton
project. He is
currently focusing on loop based program analysis and optimization
algorithms.
Wai Sum Mong
completed her bachelor degree at University of Toronto. She joined the
group since May 2001. Her research interest is in retargetable
compilation of embedded software and high speed simulation. She is
currently a member of both the
Diamond
project and the
Matrix
project. She is
currently focusing on the implementation of hardware carrying code.
Andrew Ling was
born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1980. He moved to Canada in 1982 where he
was raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Here, he received his Bachelors of
Science Computer Engineering with distinction from the University of
Alberta in April of 2003. In September 2005, Andrew Ling received his
Master's in Applied Science from the University of Toronto under the
supervision of Professor Stephen D. Brown (Master's Thesis). His
research interests include CAD for EDA, specifically focused for
FPGAs. Currently, Andrew is the President of the ECE Graduate
Student's Society and Publications Chair for the Computer Group at the
University of Toronto.
Current MASc Students
Huimin
Bian received B.E degree in Computer Science and Engineering from
Beijing Institute of Technology in 2000. Since then, she was a
technical staff in Aplus Design Technologies, Inc. and later, Magma
Design Automation, Inc. in 2003 when Aplus was acquired by Magma,
where she was mainly reponsible for FPGA/CPLD Device and Interconnect
Delay Modeling for the PLD physical synthesis tool PALACE(TM). Huimin
is pursuing the M.A.Sc degree in Computer Engineering since September
2005.
Dearly Missed
Bin Wu completed
his bachelor and master degrees at Xian Jiaotong University of
China. He joined the group since September 2001. His research is in
CAD for low power design. He completed his PhD thesis in 2006.
Dennis Wu
completed his bachelor degree in the Engineering Science program of
University of Toronto. He worked as undergraduate research assistant
in the summers of 2001 and 2002. He officially joined the group in
September 2002 and completed his MASc thesis in December 2004. He is
the main contributor of the
FBDD
project. He is now a
staff engineer of Xilinx.
Kushwinder Jasrotia
completed his bachelor degree at University of Toronto. He joined the
group in September 2000. He studied the Stacked FSMD microarchitecture
and completed his MASc thesis in July 2003. He is now a designer
engineer in Sasken Communication, Bangalore, India.
Maghsoud Abbaspour was
a visiting PhD student from University of Tehran in 2000-2001. He
contributed early studies of binary manipulation tools for embedded
software. He is now a researcher at school of computer science, IPM,
Iran.
